Salvation Testimony

I was attending a College & Career activity at Bro Gene Tennis’ home. During the devotion time Bro Dick Keith gave his testimony on how he got saved and how salvation changed his life. After the testimony, Bro Tennis, out of the Bible, presented what it meant to be a Christian and how God deals with and changes an individual who accepts Christ as Savior.

God greatly burden my heart, causing me to realize I wasn’t really saved and that I was trusting in a false profession. I went up to Bro Tennis, telling him I needed to get saved. We went into his room, and knelt at the bed. He went through the “Roman’s Road”, and I asked Jesus to come into my heart and save me. Accepting His death upon the cross to pay for my sins, I believed & trusted by faith in Jesus as my personal Savior.

Prior to this, I doubted my salvation, because I went forward in a Southern Baptist Church as a little child, and went through the motions of going forward in church and then being baptized; not knowing what it meant to get saved. I was trusting going through the motions and not in Jesus as my Savior. From October 18thI have had peace in my heart about spending eternity with Jesus Christ, as my Savior, in Heaven.
